Description:
A beautiful and fully original very fine or better banknote from Egypt. This is the June 1st, 1918 Five Piastres. This small size note is a lilac brown on green underprint. The front depicts a caravan of camels in the desert at lower center. The back, which is blue in color depicts two sphinx statues facing each other. The note is in English and Arabic on both sides. This particular note has the serial number 16994 and is series G/21. The note is from the times when Egypt was ruled by a Sultan during the British occupation. The note was issued during the times of Sultan Fuad I. It has one signature that of "Youssef Wahba" minister of finance at the time. The note has no watermark that we could find. The note is Pick Number 162. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a good very fine or better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has several folds and general wrinkling. It shows signs of soiling and some minor stains but no objectionable ones. The note has no soiling, no graffiti, no pinholes, and no repair. It has general roughness along the edges and some minor nicks. The corners are slightly rounded. The note is in good original condition and retains some of its original stiffness. Note has no tears or splits. It has all of its original coloring with minimum fading. A great note to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
